Are there any safety issues in Bangkok and Thailand that I should be aware of? |
|
You may be aware of media reports concerning political disturbances in the south of Thailand. While of intense interest to the Thai people because of its intercultural nature, events in the southern provinces are very removed geographically from Bangkok, where Thammasat University is located. International students arriving at the university are briefed on the situation and counseled against visiting or transiting the area. The region is approximately 1,000 km from the university. There have been no threats or incidents in Bangkok related to developments in the far south. |
