To hone our students’ analytical and communication skills, the BBA Program has encouraged the students to participate in international case competitions.  Over a decade we have made our name appear in  7 major international competitions worldwide.  Winning the competition is nothing comparative to the value that the students have gained and developed for their own sake of knowledge and professionalism.

However, we consistently secure top places in the competition. Remarkable successes include the world championship of the Citigroup International Case Competition 2004 held in Hong Kong and McGill Management International Case Competition 2006 held in Canada.  Our team competes with a number of prestigious universities, such as Carnegie Mellon University, Copenhagen Business School, McGill University, and University of California at Berkeley, just to name a few.

The international case competitions are similar in format.  Teams of four students representing the outstanding business programs from around the world meet a few days before the competition actually starts and join in some social events intended to allow everyone to make friends and expand connections.

The length of the case material may vary from only about twenty pages or can be up to 200 pages.  The teams have about 48 hours to analyze the case material, identify key problems of the case, and develop strategic recommendations for the company’s management.  The team must then prepare a presentation of their work and present it to a panel of judges selected from the business community.  Sometimes the members of the subject company’s management are invited to join the judging panel.
