BBA program has continuously deliver the knowledge outside of the regular courses for students, and on November 4th, BBA program organized the BBA Short Lecture Series #45: An Investment Banking Process: A Corporate Perspective.

We are honored to have Khun Komsun Suksumrun, assistant managing director, research group, from Phatra Securities PLC to deliver the lecture to us. Phatra Securities PLC is the renowned investment banking house in Thailand which achieved many recognitions and has contributed to several transactions that shaped the capital market in Thailand today. Khun Komsun’s experience and insights helped us establish a clearer picture of the industry. The most important of all is that, now we understand roles of investment bankers and the rationale behind these transactions. The session tremendously helps students bridging the gap between theory and practical application.

Khun Komsun started by first addressing the role and importance of investment bankers, and then he went through the process of an IPO from building a pitching book. In the second session, he guided us on how to do valuation of companies using a real case study. The session was concluded by question and answer session which I found incredibly useful. We learned about the trend of the industry, the career path, and how do investment bankers deal with challenges in their work.

I would like to thank Khun Komsun for such an invaluable real-world perspective in investment banking, Ajarn Obrom Chaowalerd, and BBA program who make this event possible. I have enjoyed several BBA Short Lecture Series and think that they are greatly beneficial to students who are learning or finding their dream careers, and will definitely look forward to the next one.
