Two field trips in one day with HO311
|
Written by Asst. Prof. Dr. Somboon Kulvisaechana
“Feel good is not just an emotion, it’s a philosophy.” This statement has been resonated in the heart of every DTAC employee, or simply so-called “People” at DTAC, one of the leading telecommunication service providers in Thailand. DTAC has organically grown itself to be a “happy organization” where the DTAC way or culture is constantly developed along with its brand. Employer branding and employee engagement are the key to success. To learn more about it, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somboon Kulvisaechana took the BBA students enrolling in his HO311 course for a field trip at DTAC located Jamjuree Square, in the morning of April 20, 2012. Khun Suchitra, Learning and Development Manager of People Group, and her team gave a talk on the concept of “One” (One Team, One Goal, One DTAC) and talent retention strategies through the unique DTAC culture. Walking around a creativity floor and sliding down in the office hallway is an impressive experience.

In the afternoon of the same day, the HO311 students had an opportunity to visit another company which produced a series of the talk-of-the-town TV ads for K-Bank SME, Thai Life Insurance, Gasohol and BBQ Plaza. Such wonderful advertisements would have not been possible without the top-notch creativity of the people working in a non-traditional work atmosphere like Ogilvy & Mather, a world-class advertising agency, located at the Offices at CentralWorld. Khun Amorntat Soonthornsawad, Managing Director & Talent Director, highlighted on the topic of “why people like coming to work at Ogilvy’’ and provided a company tour which really allowed the students to get a glimpse of the ‘feel & look’ of a unique workplace for creative people.
